Tracy & Luke Wedding - 05/15/10

It rained all week and threatened to pour down the entire day at the Old Place in Gautier. This was my second wedding where it seemed as if we would have an outdoor ceremony in the middle of a monsoon. BUT just like at the other wedding, it stopped raining about an hour before the ceremony was set to begin and the sky opened up to a beautiful overcast blue for the rest of the evening. Any of my photographer friends reading this can atest to how wonderful an overcast sky is for an outdoor wedding - creating a perfect natural-occurring filter for fantastic pictures. Tracy was so excited to be getting married. You could hear it in her giggles and see it in her gorgeous smile she flashed me several times while she was getting ready with her bridesmaids. Luke was sweet as he leaned in and whispered to her when she got teary-eyed during the guitar solo. Immediately his words brought a smile to her face and a muffled giggle could be heard over the singing. "This is the start of something good, don't you agree?..." Great line. Great song. Yes, Mr. DeGraw, I agree with you. This is the start of something good.......Thank you, Tracy and Luke for letting me share your special day with you. Here are some sneak peek shots from the wedding.

Baby L's First Photoshoot

I've known Nicole for so long it is hard for me to pinpoint when exactly we met. She and my brother have been friends for a million years and I have always had a special place in my heart for her. She's like a little sister I always wanted. I absolutely adore her and her husband, Mike. Just recently I was honored to be asked by Nicole and Mike to shoot their new precious baby who we will call L on this blog. L is a sweetheart. L is gorgeous and already has a personality all her own. I truly had a wonderful time and I hope these pictures do little L justice because she is sooooooooooooooo beautiful. Welcome to the world little L! Many people loved you long before you arrived! Thanks to Nicole and Mike for letting me photograph L and I can guarantee we will see much more of L as she grows!

Happy Saturday!!!!

Engaged!!!!

So I decided to start this blog completely on a whim. I've contemplated creating a blog for months, but I am so worried I won't have anything interesting to say or (worse!) no one will read it!!! Ouch! So who am I??? Good question! My name is Meghan and I am in my early thirties living in my hometown on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. I just recently (around a year ago) began photographing weddings. Two years ago I started taking portraits and a year later I took the HUGE leap to shooting weddings. I truly love wedding photography. The constant activity, the beauty of the decorations, the love shared by the couple........It is such an honor to share the most important day of a couple's life with them.

So, why did I decide to start a blog?? Well, I am sitting here very late at night with a new piece of bling on my left hand because............Wendell and I are engaged!!!! Yeah!! He did a great job picking out the bling, I mean ring!! I absolutely love it! So right now you are asking what my recent engagement has to do with starting a blog? I'm not sure, but it sounds better than saying "because I just wanted to." :) From now on you can expect this blog to cover photography topics and recent photo shoots. Thanks for reading whoever you are.

Happy Saturday!!!!!!!!!!
